We have had a deeper investigation into this – this was related to a move to a new and upgraded server we performed last week.
To offload our discs while transferring, we offloaded cover loading to a mirror on Amazons CloudFront, and it seems that security on the widgets did not like that the address was an unknown address, so it loaded the data, but not the resulting covers.
The issue should be resolved now, but you need to either wait some hours or re-add the widget (as there are some time between it loading data.
