My Moves 5 asks if I want to synchronise when opened, on clicking yes, it scans TV titles and then reports "there was a problem updating the title in the online service"
It then closes?

I've had shorten the log as it's too big to post, but it fails to sync when updating TV series

Just to add more detail, TV Series are checked. However when subsequently updating it tries to update 3 series.
On series 1 I then receive a message that "There was a problem during synchronization - synchronization failed"

Thanks for your reply.
I appreciate that this is the "nuclear" option, I am concerned that I am going to loose all of my config settings in addition to the database - especially set up for external players
I have a database backup from before this started happening, in the first instance can I try to clear the database and then restore database using my backup?

I've cleared the database, but when trying to restore a database backup it fails, and reports unable to restore backup.
I've tried 3 separate backups with the same effect?
In clearing the database it appears to have wiped out the online database too, and but I am now able to sync OK.
I had hoped that the online version would still be OK after clearing the database, and by syncing with my local database, it would be updated by the online version ensuring that all my records intact.
However I now have a completely empty database with no apparent way of restoring it?
The fact that the backups won't restore worries me if I uninstall / run clean tool and then can't restore the backups?
The other alternative solution I have is that I have whole hard disk images of my media PC for the past 5 months.
If re-image my PC with one if these images, with hopefully a working database, will this database sync OK with the now apparently blank online one and update it OK?

I am shocked to find that 3 backups of the database will not restore. I've held 3 weekly copies of the database for years with the hope that should anything like this happen, I would able to restore.
I guess my safest option now is to restore a whole disk image of my media PC from a month ago before I started having problems.
I assume that my now blank online database will be updated when it syncs with my new local copy?
I've tried to restore 5 other older copies of the database, and all fail too, so to appears that the problem is my installation of My Movies instead of the backups themselves?

I think that the corruption you had with the file system is carried over to the backup. Try to upload the backup to a file sharing site, and I will check if I can restore it - it can be that it is a corruption on the actual file system causing you to be unable to restore. I decided to restore my media PC back to early Nov before problems started
This went OK and my database was restored, however on synchronizing, it deleted most of the database!!!!!
I created a backup of the remaining database and thought I would try and restore the database that I have sent you to study, in doing so it wiped my database clean and stated that the database could not be restored!
I then tried to restore that database that I had just made, but I get an error message stating that the database can't be restored?
I can added new titles to My Movies now & sync , but the program is very slow
I'm at a total loss, I guess the best option is to delete my My Movies, run the clean and start the database again (assuming that you find corruption on the copy that I have sent you)
Using True Image I can just restore individual files, what is the database named and when is it located on my PC. I have images of my media PC going back 6 months. Is it worth trying to restore that database file from these backups?

I would be grateful if you could come back to me so that I can decide what my next step is.
