Hello,
This is my first post on the Forum and I'm using My Movies for Windows 5.41 Pre Release 5
How can I add a movie other than with a barcode? I have MKV movies I'd like to add and in the “Type” field I can only select 4K, Blu-ray...
Isn't it possible to add a custom MKV Type?

If you are just adding a movie title.... Then you need to add the title as a movie and not a Disc Title.
When you click the Add Title button, on the popup. change the Type from Disc Title to Movie, and then go from there.....
