I'm trying to contribute a Boxset. The moderator asked to contribute including photos as proof, because of the description of the back cover. How do I add these photos?

I tried to contribute a box set last night but this was rejected due to "inconsistent or missing disc Ids". As I don't have a DVD drive attached to my computer, I'm not able to enter or verify disc IDs. Does this mean I cannot contribute titles?
It really isn't easy to contribute this data - and it's a very steep learning curve - it took me about an hour to put this one together! I don't want to be frustrated so early in the relationship!

If you use the Windows software, you can use the box set creation guide in the latest pre release version - where it can copy the discs from parent to children - this means you do not need a drive. But otherwise, yes, you cannot contribute this, because the child titles must have disc ids that matches the parent. Having trouble installing or upgrading to My Movies 5? Okay, thanks. I'll try this tonight, but I tried the box set creation guide for another box set (with 20 children), and it crashed on me, which was also frustrating! It's a shame, as I have so many box sets which only have the parent currently in the database, and I'd like to be able to contribute all the children, but it's a very slow process.
Incidentally, what would be the procedure if a box set has additional children that aren't already included? For example, one of the children in the Eric Rohmer collection (Barcode 5027035018324) should actually be two children - "The Tree, the Mayor and the Mediatheque / Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle" has been included as a single child, but this is two separate films.

If a box set has made it past approvals with an error like that you would need to report it for a moderator to take a look at. Assuming they verify the error the mod would either have to revert the title back to before it was made a box set or make some corrections and add an additional (probably mostly blank) child title to the box set that you could then complete as users cannot add additional childs to a set that already exists.

I am trying to contribute some boxsets which are not listed as boxsets yet. But I am not sure about some cases, so I hope you can help me with these questions:
1. Do different cuts of a movie count as one title entry, even if they are on two spearate discs? On a regular release of a single movie I would see this as a bonus feature. Because otherwise every DVD with an optional Director's Cut would count as a boxset. But I am not sure if I got this right.
Example: In the Zombie Survival Set digipack there are 6 DVDs. Movie 1 - Director's Cut, Movie 1 - Extended Cut, Movie 2, Movie 3, Movie 4 and a bonus disc. I read how to deal with bonus discs, but how should I handle the two different versions of movie 1? 2 Disc entries with the same IMDB number?
2. Sometimes the single disc Blu-ray version of a movie contains a bonus film, but its title isn't even mentioned on the cover. Does it still count as a boxset? And if so, how should I name the boxset container?
Example: On the back of Stonados "bonus film" is listed as a bonus feature, but no title is mentioned there. When I start the Blu-ray two movies can be started from the main menu: Stonados and Supercollider. Should I treat this like a regular boxset with two movies? Should I call the boxset container just "Stonados" because that's written on the cover?
Thank you for any help!

A box set is multiple different movies, not cuts of the same movie, as stated in guidelines.
It doesn't matter how movies are packaged or the discs they are on, two or more different movies is a box set even if on one disc in one case, and multiple cuts of the same movie is still a single item regardless of packaging or discs.
In the case of actual box set where there are multiple different movies and some of those movies have multiple cuts the multiple cuts of the one movie are one item, just as they would be for a standalone.
This depends on what you mean by 'bonus film' note as a general rule special features and featurettes, making of's etc. don't count. To count as a box set the additional movie must be a fully released movie in its own right. In some rare cases a full movie may be listed or presented as a special feature or bonus item, generally these would be accepted as box sets provided the so called bonus is a fully released movie in its own right.
If an item really contains an extra valid movie but with no mention of it on the cover that would be problematic to handle and would require special consideration, technically if it contains two different movies it is valid as a box set but if there is no way to verify that from the covers then if will be difficult to get it accepted as such. Contributing it as a box set will almost certainly get rejected due to it appearing to be invalid. It would likely be easiest to contribute such an item as a single title for the item on the cover though if suitable proof could be provided it might be possible to get it accepted as a box set via corresponding with a moderator. Regardless titling would follow guidelines i.e. the cover.

Thank you very much for the explanation. The bonus film indeed is a fully released movie, but I understand the problem with verification. It might work to add a screenshot of the disc menu when I try to submit it as a boxset, but if it won't get accepted I will stick with the single title.

Hello guys
When there is a box containing all the seasons of a TV series, plus a few "TV-Movies" that have separate IMDB references but were actually broadcast as "special episodes" of the same series, it should be contributed as an individual title (with sort "Series 00.00) or as a boxed set with one or more "children" for the TV saeson and one chlld each for the TV movies?
Thanks and regards
Cesare

The German set of the TV series "Babylon 5" (DVD 7321921739934) has been recently modified into a boxed set, with one "child" only for the five regular seasons (although they are in separate slipcases) and one child each for the so-called "TV movies" (the pilot and five specials), that are all together in a sixth slipcase.
Is this correct? I have checked other series - "Dowton Abbey", "Veronica Mars" - and I see that normally TV series are contributed only as an individual title with sort 00.00 even when they include TV specials, and not as a boxed set (I assume it might be different if the specials had ben released theatrically, so a set of "Downton Abbey" might need to be trated differently if it includes the new movie).
Thanks
Cesare

It should be contributed as a single TV series item. TV movies that continue or farm part of a TV series are considered a TV series and should be available for mapping to the relevant specials in season 0 of the series data and should not be added as separate childs. The inclusion of actual theatrically released movies would be different.
Based on your description that Babylon 5 item should NOT be a box set but just a single TV series item. The possible exception to that might be if it includes items from an actual different series e.g. Crusade and maybe 'Legend Of The Rangers' although that was put out much as the other Babylon 5 TV movies as if it was just another continuation of Babylon 5 it was meant to be the pilot for a new spin off series that never happened.

This is what I thought, also because the cover of the box lists "Legend of the Rangers" as one of the Babylon 5 movies Can you correct the title, by removing and deleting the "children" (if I did it, they would remain as "orphans")? I will then complete the profile

I have deleted the invalid child titles and reverted the item data to before it was contributed as a box set.
Having looked at the box and the series data this is best handled and mapped as a single TV series item, even 'Legend of the Rangers' is there as a season 0 special and as the spin off never happened it is best handled as just another TV movie of the series.

Sorry if this is a stupid question since I'm new to this but I was looking ar sorting some box sets that are lacking in my collection. If they have invidivual cases without barcodes is the only way to contribute those child titles with the disc id? I ask as I don't have a blu ray drive on my computer.
EDIT: Nvm figured it out.

I have a question with regards to description for child profiles in box sets. If they don't have a description on the case but they have a separate release available by the same company. Can we use the description from the individual release for the child profile or does it HAVE to be in/on the box set somewhere?

The description must match that of the text for the profile's cover(s), so the answer is no, you may not add a description from different releases of the same title. You may not use a description from another item or source.
The only exception as regards box sets for child description is if there is no description at all on the rear cover but one is provided elsewhere in the packaging of the item then with proof that description may be used.

Evening guys! I'm looking for advice on how to contribute the UK box sets of Harry Potter: Years 1-6 and Fast & Furious 7-Movie Collection. Both collections have three Amaray DVD cases with two films each; one of the F&F cases contains three films. My initial solution using Harry Potter is to create children of the format:
KeepCase 1: Title: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone / Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets -- Disk 1: HPPS -- Disk 2: HPCoS
KeepCase 2: Title: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban / Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire -- Disk 1: HPPoA -- Disk 2: HP GoF
KeepCase 3: Title: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix / Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince -- Disk 1: HPOotP -- Disk 2: HPatHBP
This kind of makes sense initially albeit one finds it difficult to identify the separate films. HOWEVER, this approach falls over completely when linking each title to the IMDB film, not to mention the associated production information, audio tracks, subtitles, etc. So, this scheme is inappropriate.
The Fast & Furious Collection follows the same pattern.
Another option, though I believe contrary to the documentation, is define a separate child for each film and use the cover for the respective films in that Amaray case. Each side of the covers for the Harry Potter have the artwork for the two films in the case ... production information is in small print below the artwork. Runtime, audio, and subtitle information is on the reverse visible through the transparent amaray case. Or do we use the slip cover artwork for each child. Which likewise isn't quite correct.
I keep toying with the options but ultimately, I think, they really are box sets of box sets, which I believe is not supported in the current iteration of the software.
Do you concur and agree the two titles are left in their current state? Or, does anyone have any suggestions to adjust the titles?

Box sets are NOT based on the packaging, you create box sets with a child for each movie regardless of the packaging. Its the content not the packaging that determines the box set.
Your Harry Potter set as described will have 6 child titles, one for each movie. You would use the covers of the relevant case on the relevant child, it does not matter that the same covers will repeat that is expected. You would take the relevant movie data from the cover for each movie for that movie's child title.
