Hello, all. I've noticed a lot of titles in the Webservice that are 100% complete but are still unlocked in the Webservice. This results in a perfectly good title being screwed up by someone eventually. An example is that a user today changed about 5 USA titles, that were 100% complete, to titles with Russian Front Covers, Russian Descriptions, etc. etc. Luckily, our good user Harry Hart reported one of the titles that he found and I was able to fix all the titles that had been messed up today. Thank goodness the offending user only started screwing things up today before the number of titles rose into the 100s. This can be all avoided if, when you bring a title to 100% and you are absolutely positive that the information is 100% perfect, you send an error report for the title stating that the title is 100% complete and could it please be locked. You'll receive points for sending the report and also helping to ensure that nice titles stay nice. Just be sure that the information is correct before you send the report. Just to be clear - if you request a lock on a title - you MUST make sure the information is 100% complete and unimproveable, even if you did not complete it yourself. It's very crucial that you not request locks on titles unless they are truly worthy of being locked. If this requires that you fix the title, that's okay - just make the fixes to the title and then request the lock and all is good. New to My Movies and confused? For the moment - if you yourself bring a title to 100% completion, please request a lock. :) New to My Movies and confused? Hi Members,
Just a tip here: Title that are at 100% but still have "Improvable" can not be locked. Such as "Improvable: Front Cover Quality or Back Cover Quality" or both

I'm coming across titles that are locked but have "Improvable: Disc Chapters/Titles".

At one point we were locking titles without chapter/title names included because it is easy to request a title to be unlocked to fix this and this information was not part of a profile at that time. You will also find locked titles with missing IMDB IDs - again, many of these were done before such a feature was available. If we left them all unlocked for months-on-end, when they are only missing chapter/title information, it is easy for that title to be screwed up waiting for someone to contribute the chapter/title information - so we leave the option of requesting an unlock for these titles. Maybe I missed it someplace, but how do I go about requesting a lock anyway? I've finished up a few movies this weekend that could be locked. Just curious.

submit an invalid data report (click the yellow triangle). tell them you believe the profile is 100% complete and accurate and to please lock it. I haven't requested any locks personally, but I'm finding many as I re-work my collection that might be ready -- I'm just not 100% confident they aren't improvable.

Where do you look to see if a title is locked?

curtisb wrote:Where do you look to see if a title is locked? At this point in time - you have no way of knowing apart from attempting to contribute data or covers to the title, at which point you will receive a message if it is locked: only a moderator knows otherwise. This will, hopefully, be an upcoming feature so that everyone can see the lock status. That is why I suggested a lock should be requested when you have completed the title yourself to 100% - at least THAT way you know it is already unlocked when you begin working on it. Please guys, if you have a 100% title, ask that it be locked. This is very important to prevent incorrect changes. Just tonight we had a user that changed about 20 US profiles to Spanish language and tried to change the covers on half of them. Nearly all of these were in a lockable condition.

What are people thinking? Well they're not thinking or they just don't really care. I've spent a lot of time on the accuracy of the titles in my collection. I've improved many of them and added a few that were never in the database. I'm getting to the point that I'm going to start requesting a title lock on what I have in my collection.

There really needs to be some indication in Collection Management that the title is locked. I really don't want to spam you guys with several hundred "100% Complete, please lock" reports for titles that may already be locked.

I have checked whether I had some titled that should be locked. When I look at the status on the top of the screen, it says 100% (and does not say improvable), but when I want to edit Disc Chapters/Titles, I can't see any entered. Are these titles still 100% or not ?

What are some examples that are missing chapter/episode names that do not show as improvable?
