The “Follow” flag added to titles on the details page, and the “Following” list in the left side menu of the app, lets you follow movies and tv series of your interest, and get alerted by e-mail or notifications on availability changes.

The feature has been created to let you always be on top of new releases on your preferred media, and ensure that you do not miss anything of your interest – you can follow a movie or a TV Series already when you become aware of its future existence, though trailers in the cinema, though our popularity lists, or widgets of upcoming titles, or anywhere else.

Lists

Lists are lists of movies, being personal favorites in a category, a list of movies within a universe, or basically anything you can think of that you would like to base a movie list on.

The lists can be created as ranked or not ranked, and can be extended or changed by the list owner along the way - lists is considered a social thing, where you can create the list as public, allowing others to discover and like your lists, or add your lists to their own collections and follow your list.

You can also use the share function to share your list on your social media of preference.

Using lists, you can share all your favorite movies of a genre or topic with all the other community members.

Use the lists as a way of locating other interesting movies by seeing which other lists a movie is part of from the details page.

Create All Profile Types

The option to create a personal title have been significantly improved, with many additional data options when creating personal disc titles, and you can now also create both movies, movie collections and tv series profiles as personal titles.

Once you have your title created and perfected, you can also choose to contribute this title to the online service.

Users who contribute to the service, and have earned a certain amount of contribution points will get access to direct editing of global profiles to edit and contribute the data to the online service, over having to report incorrect data, or using the add missing data function on individual data options.

Widgets

We just love widgets - and with many new added widgets in My Movies 5, we are sure that you also will, if you are not already using widgets. We have created several widgets, and this is an area we will continue to improve on.

The most important widget for you everyday usage is likely the "Search" widget - it will let you directly open the app into the search box for titles in your own collection, and will bypass sync checks against the online service, so that your app is open and ready to search instantly. The same widget also contains links to directly open the barcode scanner, as well as links to directly searching for a disc title, movie or tv series in our online service.

Additionally, widgets for displaying popular or upcoming titles on DVD, Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD have been made available as well, and a widget for popular or upcoming movies in theaters.

You also will get a widget to display titles in your own collection, such as latest added titles, or titles on loan, with a red on the amount of days a title loan is overdue, or a green marker on the amount of days remaining - the widget lets you quickly open the title and return the loan.

Updated PDF Reports

Creating collection reports in PDF format have been a loved features since it was originally introduced, and we have now created a completely new and significantly improved PDF report feature.

You can now customise the reports to your own liking, and select page layout, which fields the report contains, and if a report should contain page numbers, date and title counts, and store these customisations for quick access when creating new reports.

Reports generates much faster, and you can see progress directly on the screen in the app, and when the report is done being created, you will still receive an e-mail with the report link as before, but you will also be able to open or share the PDF directly from the app by using the share functionality in the operating system.

Multiple Copies of Same Title

With titles purchased though streaming, it becomes more and more common for our users to own the same movie on multiple different formats.

In prior versions of My Movies, it has been an option to have one copy of each different release on disc title releases (DVD, Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD), but if you had multiple copies of the same release, only one could be added - similar for movie profiles, the same movie could only be added to the collection once, separate to disc title releases, and especially for movie profiles, it was a limitation for many of our users, who owned the same title on different streaming services.

Both movie profile and the same disc title profile can now be added to the collection multiple times, each with their own personal data, meaning movie profiles with digital copies can be marked with the specific format or edition you own.

In addition, you can now filter for duplicate titles to see which titles you have more than one copy of.

Person Profile Updates

The persons details page have been significantly improved, and now contains additional details such as birth name, birth place, height and a date of death where applies, as well as a link to IMDB for additional details about the person.

With My Movies 4, we added a "Starring In" section to the details page, and we have now extended this viewing with a page to display a top 10 "Known for" movies, so that you will see popular titles the person stars in and have lead roles in.

Find Duplicates

Duplicates are always a concern for many of our users - which titles do I have in multiple formats, and which do I only have in an older lower quality format?

The application will still warn you when adding another release of a title you already have, but you can now also use the filter function to get a list of titles where you have multiple versions of the same movie.

With the increased use of streaming services, it is more and more common for many of our users to own different copies of the same title, and with the new ability to add the same movie or disc release more than once in the collection, it becomes more important to be able to see which titles you own multiple copies of.

Unlimited Statistics

The statistics feature in the app was originally created for contributors only, with only the basic options for media formats and disc formats being open for everyone. We have now changed the full statistics feature with all of its options to be an integrated part of the app for everyone.

You can now create statistics on a lot of different details, such as how your collection titles is spread between genres, or own created categories, how many hours you have watched the titles in your collection over time, purchase details and much more.

The statistics feature is also a chance to share details of your collection to your favourite Facebook discussion group, on Instagram, X or other social media.

Additional Minor Functionality

Besides the individually highlighted features, many other improvements is available in My Movies 5, with some examples below:

- You can now edit both data and profile photo on person profiles, where the edit is a direct contribution to the online service.

- Adult (porn) titles is now supported in the app by enabling it though the parental controls features.

Future Support and Updates

We aim to release a new major version My Movies every second year, where users on a subscription is automatically updated to the new version, and existing customers on the purchased Pro version is offered an update at half price in a limited period - while still supported, the prior applications will not receive further updates once a new major release is released. Users of the prior applications can continue to use the applications as they do now, on their current device and OS versions, but while all services around the applications continue, it is not guaranteed that OS updates or new devices will not break functionality.

Whether you prefer a subscription, to always be updated with the latest version of the application, or if you prefer to purchase the app and choose if you would like to take the half price offer on purchased Pro version is up to you - the application features are the same.

By using the latest version, you ensure that you can continue to use the application on upcoming OS versions and on new devices, and you support our continued development and service around the solution. Thank you for helping us to ensure that our services unlike many competitors are still here for years to come!
